Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer

For projects that need help with adhesion or superior stain or tannin blocking, Wise Owl Primer is KEY! Comes in four colors for a perfect match under your Chalk Synthesis Paint or One Hour Enamel.

When to Use:

Adhesion -

For slick surfaces, lacquered pieces, laminate, plastic, metal, glass, or any surface that may cause paint to have trouble gripping. ALWAYS use prior to painting cabinets, tile, doors, or floors.

Stain Blocking -

For woods that have high bleed through risks (mahogany, cherry, etc) or deep rooted permanent stains.

Colors:

Clear - Use on painting projects that involve distressing down to bare wood

White - Use before painting any light colors

Gray - Use under light to medium tones, especially pinks/pale reds and light grays

Dark Gray - Use under any highly saturated tones, like black, deep reds, purples, etc

Application:

Apply 2 even coats with a brush, roller, or sprayer. Allow primer to dry 4-6 hours between coats. The more troublesome the surface is, the longer you should allow the primer to dry/cure. For super slick pieces, I prefer to let the first coat dry for 24 hours, and then let the second coat dry for an additional 24 hours before painting. You can sand the primer once its fully dry for a flawless finish.
